Become a Foster Parent

Fostering children is an intense commitment. It is difficult and rewarding. It is heart-wrenching and character-building. It is filled with joy and tears. It is a crazy journey of unknowns and unconditional love.

Choosing to foster is a sacrifice and a calling that can seem overwhelming. But each sacrifice, each choice, each “yes” is making a difference in the life of a child, a parent, a family. By loving for a short time, we have the opportunity to impact someone’s eternity.

Though the calling is great, the support from the Spirit is unwavering. We would love to partner with you as you open your heart and your home to blessing and being blessed by these precious children and their families.

Successful foster families acknowledge…

The focus is on the children. “It’s not all about me.”

There is no normal. Every child provides unique blessings and challenges.

You cannot do this alone. You will need a solid support system.

There is no room for rigidity. “Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be broken.”

A critical spirit makes life difficult for everyone. The best way to deal with difficult people is to acknowledge you are one.

Hurt people hurt people. Parents and children alike are in need of healing.

You must communicate openly. Be willing to share struggles, needs, observations, and strengths.

You are part of a team. In order to be a respected member of the team, you have to respect the other team members.
