Sonya Ball

Certification & Compliance Coordinator

Sonya’s journey into the world of foster care began in 2010, but her desire to provide a safe and loving home for children in need began years earlier. From her father-in-law’s story of adoption out of an orphanage to her family’s experience in caring for a relative’s children, Sonya and her husband Roger believed fostering was in their future after their three sons were older. However, God had other plans and voided all their excuses in one moment of clarity. Taking a step of faith, they opened their home and over the years welcomed more than 20 children into their family for various lengths of time but with equal amounts of blessing.

This passion for families led Sonya to pursue a career in the field of social work, where she served the children of Tulsa County as an OKDHS worker and through contracted foster care agencies. Sonya’s years as a foster parent enable her to connect with other foster families as she guides them through the certification process, answering their questions and easing their anxieties along the way. Sonya holds a deep love and admiration for foster families and views supporting them on their own foster care journeys as a joy and privilege. She believes wholeheartedly in the mission of Family for Life to encourage reunification in a proactive way and to support biological families on the path to healing.
